Vodacom Group and Fiskl partner to empower entrepreneurs and small businesses

A mobile-first financial management app, Fiskl has re-designed the way day to day finances are managed in a small business. By offering local pricing, ability to invoice in over 60 languages and over 150 currencies, Fiskl appeals to an increasingly global and highly mobile set of entrepreneurs, especially in Africa, where Fiskl already has customers in 11 countries.
This is why we are proud to announce our partnership with Vodacom Group to bring mobile and digital technology together for South Africa’s small businesses. Through this collaboration, Fiskl will be integrated in Vodacom’s business offering, allowing any customer to easily add Fiskl to their business apps from the Vodacom Cloud Marketplace. This will enable entrepreneurs to have an instant overview of their daily finances and the ability to manage their business and staff from anywhere, thus empowering them to not only efficiently manage their cash flow but also to focus on growing their business.
“Approximately 70% of new businesses in South Africa fail within the first 2 years of operation because of many reasons, one being administration complexities,” said Fatima Hassim, Managing Executive, Enterprise Products and Services at Vodacom. “Vodacom’s ambition is to start removing the barriers that SMEs face by partnering with companies like Fiskl to simplify their day-to-day operations. On a daily basis, they’re sending invoices, making payments and managing their projects and team. By offering Fiskl through our digital app stores, small business owners now have a single destination to help manage their entire business.”
“Fiskl’s main focus is to make advanced mobile technology truly accessible to micro businesses globally. Micro-SMEs are the lifeblood of the global economies (over 350M worldwide and growing) yet up to 70% of these are unserved or underserved in terms of finances, access and technology”, says Alina Lapusneanu, Fiskl CEO and founder.
Over the next 20 years, due to technological changes and population growth, new jobs will be primarily created by micro-SMEs. African countries, and South Africa in particular, are primarily mobile, highly entrepreneurial and thriving digital markets yet mostly ignored by technology companies focused primarily on developed markets. Fiskl’s financial and business management platform aims to democratise software access for micro-SMEs via mobile first products priced for the local markets.
The Fiskl app is available to download from Apple, Google, Amazon or on the web at my.fiskl.com. With a rich roadmap of features, integrations and API automation, Fiskl will empower small businesses to develop a good relationship with their finances, reduce uncertainty and ultimately, help entrepreneurs understand how to make smart financial decisions.
