Featured entrepreneur: Kirin Kalia – Grow Through Story
Global Entrepreneurship Week Showcase: Kirin Kalia from Grow Through Story
I met Kirin in 2021, when Fiskl made the shortlist for the Visa Everywhere competition. She had been engaged by Visa to coach the founders on the shortlist to deliver their best pitch possible. With Kirin’s focused coaching on presenting a compelling story, Fiskl won the Europe competition.
Fast forward to 2022 and Kirin started her own entrepreneurial journey, coaching founders, and supporting accelerators and executives in companies to succeed via powerful narratives.
It’s no surprise that her own story, how she built her own company, Grow Through Story, with a focus on diverse and often underserved founders, ended up putting her on the cover of Impact Magazine and we’d like to pitch her to you as well.
A few quotes from Kirin on her journey and the impact of crafting a powerful story:
My dream as a fresh college grad who loved journalism: become editor-in-chief of a major magazine. But gracing the cover? That never even occurred to me.
That’s everything from my two stints as a tech/business journalist (and living in Europe) to my then-dream editor job at an immigration policy think tank in DC to a B2B SaaS startup as an early, do-what-needs-to-be-done employee.
The common thread in my own story became crystal clear in 2021. I love sharing people’s stories and ideas, and I love startup founders. Helping founders share their vision so they get the resources they need to build the businesses of their dreams LIGHTS ME UP!
I realized that the best way to fulfill this mission was to launch Grow Through Story, a company designed to support founders’ storytelling needs and uplevel their pitch skills. Scary? Yup. But no question I made the right decision.
